Stroke complicating cardiac catheterisation was associated with an increased risk of readmission, with a significantly higher hazard of readmission for stroke noted. Despite minimal functional impairment based on modified Rankin score, stroke was associated with a significant risk of early and cumulative mortality. Stroke incidence remained stable over the study period despite changes in procedural practice. Conclusions: The incidence and functional severity of stroke remains low despite evolving procedural practice with a stable incidence over time despite changes in procedural practice; however, post-procedural stroke confirms an increased mortality hazard.]]> Wed 02 Mar 2022 12:28:28 AEDT ]]> Patients' experiences of coping with multiple chronic conditions: a qualitative descriptive study /manager/Repository/uon:37593 Tue 23 Feb 2021 13:04:52 AEDT ]]> The health and wellbeing of Australian farmers: a longitudinal cohort study /manager/Repository/uon:29470 Thu 21 Oct 2021 12:51:57 AEDT ]]> An experiment in using open-text comments from the Australian Rural Mental Health Study on health service priorities /manager/Repository/uon:36275 Thu 04 Nov 2021 10:38:54 AEDT ]]> Meaning in life and meaning of life in mental health care: an integrative literature review /manager/Repository/uon:33861 Thu 03 Feb 2022 12:21:31 AEDT ]]> Characteristics and outcomes of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in a tertiary referral hospital /manager/Repository/uon:9539 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:35:49 AEDT ]]> Accuracy of general practitioner unassisted detection of depression. /manager/Repository/uon:19114 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:55:52 AEDT ]]> Serum methylarginines and incident depression in a cohort of older adults /manager/Repository/uon:19394 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:52:05 AEDT ]]> Mild hyponatremia is associated with impaired cognition and falls in community-dwelling older persons /manager/Repository/uon:28452 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:29:05 AEDT ]]> Validation of the PHQ-2 against the PHQ-9 for detecting depression in a large sample of Australian general practice patients /manager/Repository/uon:23999 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:10:22 AEDT ]]> A systematic review and meta-synthesis of the qualitative literature exploring the experiences and quality of life of survivors of a cardiac arrest /manager/Repository/uon:32606 Mon 25 Jun 2018 12:15:14 AEST ]]> Factors associated with seclusion use in forensic mental health settings: an integrative review /manager/Repository/uon:37592 Mon 22 Feb 2021 13:51:52 AEDT ]]> Urban-rural differences in mental health among Chinese patients with multiple chronic conditions /manager/Repository/uon:38065 Mon 02 Aug 2021 11:51:57 AEST ]]> Patients' experiences of coping with multiple chronic conditions: a meta-ethnography of qualitative work /manager/Repository/uon:38066 Mon 02 Aug 2021 11:51:51 AEST ]]> Illness perceptions, coping strategies, and quality of life in people with multiple chronic conditions /manager/Repository/uon:38064 SD = 14.6). Of the participants, 83% had two chronic conditions. Participants reported impaired physical and mental QoL when compared with the general population in China. Poorer QoL was correlated with stronger illness perceptions of consequences and timeline and increased use of denial and disengagement and self-blame. Increasing age and more chronic conditions were associated with worse QoL. A higher education level was significantly associated with better physical and mental QoL. Conclusions: This study found that adults with MCCs living in China experienced impaired QoL. The strong relationship found between the participants' perceptions of MCCs, coping strategies, and QoL suggested that healthcare professionals should recognize the physical and psychological impacts of MCCs and address the significance of adaptations to MCCs in future treatment programs. The findings will help healthcare professionals design more specific interventions to modify illness perceptions and enhance certain coping strategies to improve the QoL of people with MCCs. Healthcare professionals can mobilize available resources from healthcare and social systems to enhance people's coping and adaptation to MCCs. Clinical Relevance: With an understanding of the illness perceptions of people with MCCs, healthcare professionals could offer information related to consequences, timeline, and personal control to enable better alignment between people's expectations and their actual situations. By knowing people's coping strategies, healthcare professionals can offer additional support to people who prefer strategies of denial and disengagement and self-blame.]]> Mon 02 Aug 2021 09:59:46 AEST ]]> Coping with multiple chronic conditions: an integrative review /manager/Repository/uon:38061 Fri 30 Jul 2021 13:30:45 AEST ]]> Long-term survivors of cardiac arrest: a narrative inquiry /manager/Repository/uon:39255 Fri 27 May 2022 16:31:25 AEST ]]> The contribution of individual, social and work characteristics to employee mental health in a coal mining industry population /manager/Repository/uon:30996 Fri 22 Apr 2022 10:25:51 AEST ]]> Alcohol consumption in the Australian coal mining industry /manager/Repository/uon:27360 Fri 22 Apr 2022 10:22:38 AEST ]]>
