- Description
- Documentary theatre appears to have made a comeback since the 1990s, and is even more prominent as a performative form within what Baz Kershaw has referred to as the "theatre estate" (Kershaw 1999) than in its two earlier boom periods, the 1930s and 1960s. The movement of plays which have piqued the interest of the "theatre estate" and moved from small alternative performance spaces to national or even international touring indicates their new-found status as highly saleable international commodities.
