- Description
- The essay is a personal reading of Du Fu, who has been hailed as China's greatest poet. It juxtaposes this classical poet with postmodern China, and also explores aspects of Du Fu that have often been overlooked - that he is perhaps the first anti-war and the first truly autobiographical poet in the world. The essay also tracks my love of his work, and the rediscovery of my Chinese literary heritage.
