- The International Labour Organization indicates that alcohol use disorders represent one of the major occupational hazards. Employees with alcohol use disorders may lower productivity, particularly through higher rates of sickness absenteeism and workplace accidents, compared with those who drink alcohol at low levels of short-term risk.
