- Description
- A multiphase Eulerian computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model is used to simulate the flow of a granular material through chutes of different geometry to investigate the impact of dust generation. The multiphase flow has components air, 1mm solid dispersed particles representing the granular material, and 1OOµm solid dispersed particles representing dust particles. The outlet profiles indicating the distribution of the dust can then be inspected where observations can be made regarding dust generation. The results presented in this paper agree qualitatively with both experimental results and field data.
