- Description
- The Gan et al. paper on this issue adds to the growing body of evidence showing that procedures that bypass the upper small intestine have a more rapid and more profound effect on type 2 diabetes than purely restrictive procedures. The challenge for the Obesity Society of Australia and New Zealand (which represents obesity surgeons) in conjunction with Royal Australasian College of Surgeons is to continue to develop a meaningful credentialing process and a comprehensive training programme, which covers the full range of surgical options.
