- Description
- This thesis highlights the low levels of physical activity Australian students are achieving at school, especially girls and the modest impact school-based interventions have had, to date, on their physical activity levels. The implementation of simple, cost-effective, and scalable interventions is needed to enhance physical activity levels among girls. Amending school policies to enable students to wear sports uniform to school every day of the week is one that has a large amount of support and has the potential to facilitate children’s activity levels in particular girls. Further research identifying how we can make future school-based interventions more effective for addressing the determinants of girls physical activity levels is recommended.
