- Description
- Despite the world-renown scientific achievement of Commander Neil Armstrong’s first moon walk, few will know of his daughter Karen “Muffie” Armstrong who was lost to the fatal brainstem malignancy, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), at just 2 years of age. Muffie was diagnosed with this form of diffuse midline glioma (DMG) in 1962, received 6 weeks of palliative radiotherapy, and passed little more than 6 months following her diagnosis.
