- DC-DC converters are widely used in various applications, including renewable energy integration and electric transport. Performance of DC-DC converters can be improved through using advanced control methods. This paper introduces state feedback control with state and disturbance observers for a buck converter. The paper includes detailed mathematical modelling in both continuous-time and discrete-time domains, as well as detailed design of the observer and control parameters. The paper compares performance of state feedback control and PI control and shows advantages of the former. Detailed simulations in MATLAB/Simulink environment validate the paper findings.
