- Description
- Matrix Converter (MC) is a compact and power efficient replacement of the traditional two-stage AC/DC/AC power conversion. This paper proposes a novel control and modulation scheme that combines the advantages of Model Predictive Control (MPC) with constant switching frequency modulation. The proposed control is based on inverse system models. The proposed modulation scheme utilizes cost functions. The reference voltage and current vectors are reproduced with high accuracy. The paper demonstrates advantages of the proposed modulation scheme in comparison to the traditional control with SVM, conventional MPC and Modulated MPC, with respect to both tracking errors and harmonic distortions. The results are validated by simulations.
