- Description
- Diabetic foot infections (DFIs) are associated with substantial morbidity, mortality and reduced quality of life. Early suspicion, diagnosis and assessment are crucial to improve outcomes. In an era of increasing antimicrobial resistance, the choice of appropriate antibiotics is essential to reduce treatment failure, adverse events, selection pressure and costs. This review selected a number of ‘hot topics’ on DFIs and members of the Bone and Skin & Soft Tissue Infections Working Group of the International Society of Antimi-crobial Chemotherapy (ISAC) reviewed them.
