- Description
- Efforts continue to embed sustainable construction within the built environment; however, little attention has been given to construction professionals' understanding of the relationship between the principles of sustainable construction and construction phases. With different professionals involved throughout the project life-cycle, achieving sustainable principles at different stages may be difficult. This emphasises the need to explore these professionals' understandings of the relationships between sustainable construction and construction phases. This paper examines literature to establish this relationship as understood by construction professionals. Evidence is presented of a mutually inclusive relationship between the principles of sustainable construction and construction phases. This study highlights the limited understanding of the framework for describing these relationships.
