- Description
- Australian literary production has never been an isolated activity confined to national borders. From its inception, Australian literature has always been mediated by a transnational network of publishing and distribution, and the fate of local works of literature has often been profoundly affected by the vicissitudes of the international book trade. Indeed, from the end of the 19th Century until the 1980s, British publishers dominated the Australian book market.
