- Description
- We propose a fault tolerant control strategy based on multi-sensor switching for sys- tems with linear parameter varying (LPV) uncer- tainty model description. The strategy combines a robust fault detection and isolation (FDI) unit based on an invariant-set approach, which discards from the closed-loop system those sensors deemed faulty, with an estimate switching mechanism that switches between the remaining healthy estimates. The esti- mate selected by the switching is employed in a feedback controller with reference tracking. The robust FDI unit can discriminate between faulty and healthy situations based on the separation of relevant sets, whose computation takes into account system disturbances and model uncertainty. The resulting robust fault tolerant control scheme is guaranteed to pre- serve boundedness of the closed-loop system trajectories under a wide range of sensor fault scenarios. The performance of the proposed scheme is illustrated by a simulation example.
