- Description
- The paper examines a method combining cognitive and linguistic approaches to investigate design protocols. The method is applied in a pilot study to compare Australian and Swedish language protocols recorded in an experiment using a parametric design environment. The results demonstrate that the coding schemes can formally capture both cognitive and linguistic characteristics of the design process. This multi-focused approach directly contributes to a better understanding of the relationship between design and language.
