- Description
- Initially this chapter will establish the influence that relationship concepts have on construction supply chains, endeavouring to show where thoughtful use of relationship marketing techniques can benefit the construction supply chain (Davis 2008). Recognising the need to build and sustain relationships in procurement generally and most particularly in PPP type projects, this chapter will present a model that has been developed and tested in research undertaken with industry practitioners. Contemporary validation of the model will be drawn from other researchers that study PPP and integrated-type project delivery. The models and their constituent parts can be used as a template by researchers and practitioners alike to encourage a culture of relationship building/maintenance, reflective learning and mutual trust that may be maintained beyond project-specific delivery dates well into the operational phase of the PPP project (Davis and Love 2011 ).
