- Description
- Renewable energy resources will likely be an integral part of future electrical systems. Photovoltaics in particular are receiving significant research attention in terms of developing the photovoltaic (PV) system to improve efficiency and to meet grid codes, as well as developing intelligent methods of control. This paper presents a review of the main established PV system topologies as well as the emerging multilevel converter based topologies. The Model Predictive Control (MPC) method for converter control is also presented, with particular emphasis on the key features for PV applications.
