- Description
- This paper describes a new conveying technology for the continuous transportation of bulk materials. The new technology, aptly named the Rail Conveyor, merges the benefits of both belt conveyor technology and railway to produce a continuous low rolling resistance bulk material transportation system. This step change technology provides a more energy efficient and cost effective method for transporting bulk commodities over long distances and has many advantages over conventional overland belt conveyors, including; capital cost savings, reduced energy consumption, and the ability to transport over longer distances due to reduced cumulative belt tension.
