- Markets evolve in a complex way, influenced by the dynamic interactions of consumers seeking products and enterprises that compete to make sales. How well enterprises perform in this market is influenced by both their organisational strategy and the fluctuations in consumer demand. To better understand this complex interaction we employ an agent-based simulation that models small-medium enterprises with various behavioural strategies operating under both stable and turbulent market conditions. We simulate these two market conditions by configuring the fluctuations in consumer demand. We then allow enterprise agents to make decisions about which products to supply based on strategies aligned to the well-known Miles and Snow topology. We report on two simulation experiments, analysing the sales performance of the different enterprise strategies in both a stable and turbulent market.
