- Description
- Qualitative research in voice education in Australia offers a valuable contribution to our understanding and perspective on singing teaching in the 21st century. As Creswell argued, such a study offers a valid exploration of a topic on which little has been previously written. Through the perspective of professional singing teachers, this chapter examines some current issues facing classical voice pedagogy in the Greater Newcastle region of New South Wales. The lack of empirical literature on this topic is somewhat surprising, given Greater Newcastle's status as the most populous regional centre in New South Wales and it's proud artistic tradition of choral and solo singing.
