Findings: In 2019, there were 36·8 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 35·1–38·9) people living with HIV worldwide. There were 0·84 males (95% UI 0·78–0·91) per female living with HIV in 2019, 0·99 male infections (0·91–1·10) for every female infection, and 1·02 male deaths (0·95–1·10) per female death. Global progress in incident cases and deaths between 2010 and 2019 was driven by sub-Saharan Africa (with a 28·52% decrease in incident cases, 95% UI 19·58–35·43, and a 39·66% decrease in deaths, 36·49–42·36). Elsewhere, the incidence remained stable or increased, whereas deaths generally decreased. In 2019, the global incidence-to-prevalence ratio was 0·05 (95% UI 0·05–0·06) and the global incidence-to-mortality ratio was 1·94 (1·76–2·12). No regions met suggested thresholds for progress. Interpretation: Sub-Saharan Africa had both the highest HIV burden and the greatest progress between 1990 and 2019. The number of incident cases and deaths in males and females approached parity in 2019, although there remained more females with HIV than males with HIV. Globally, the HIV epidemic is far from the UNAIDS benchmarks on progress metrics. The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility of a culturally adapted version of the program for Hispanic families, Papás Saludables Niños Saludables. Methods: A randomized waitlist controlled trial with a process evaluation was conducted to assess the feasibility of Papás Saludables Niños Saludables(NCT03532048). Fathers, their partner (mother), and one to three children were enrolled. A priori feasibility criteria were: (1) recruit 40 Hispanic fathers and their families in ≤4 months; (2) retain 80% of participants for pre- and postassessments; (3) maintain ≥70% attendance to the 10 sessions; (4) obtain 80% “excellent” or “good” satisfaction from participants; and (5) collect anthropometric and behavioral data on ≥75% of participants at baseline and follow-up. Results: The study enrolled 90% (n = 36) of the goal from one local pediatric clinic between May and August 2018; retained 75% of participants for postassessment; maintained 72% attendance among those who started the program; and achieved 100% “excellent/good” satisfaction ratings among the participating fathers and mothers. One hundred percent of participants had most anthropometric and behavioral data at baseline and 72% at follow-up. Conclusions: With oversampling and improvements in the recruitment strategies, Papás Saludables Niños Saludables is feasible for a randomized controlled clinical trial to address whether a father-targeted lifestyle program is efficacious among low-income Hispanic men and their children.]]> Wed 14 Dec 2022 16:03:05 AEDT ]]> Safeguarding without stigmatising: Language of responses to child abuse in high- and upper-middle- income countries https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:52152 Wed 13 Mar 2024 19:06:42 AEDT ]]> Social determinants of health on human immunodeficiency virus care quality in Indonesia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:52814 Wed 13 Mar 2024 19:03:54 AEDT ]]> Home environment predictors of vegetable and fruit intakes among Australian children aged 18 months https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:35759 Wed 12 Jul 2023 10:48:14 AEST ]]> Measurement of School Engagement in Elementary School Students: A Scoping Review https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:52474 Wed 11 Oct 2023 20:50:48 AEDT ]]> Genetic Basis of Childhood Cardiomyopathy https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:52462 Wed 11 Oct 2023 15:08:04 AEDT ]]> Increased sleep latency and reduced sleep duration in children with asthma https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:14520 Wed 11 Apr 2018 16:28:20 AEST ]]> The paediatric clinical experiences of general practice registrars https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:15268 Wed 11 Apr 2018 16:14:08 AEST ]]> Suboptimal omega-3 levels in Australian adolescents https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:17031 8.
