The key finding was that for compositions more reduced than ~MnO1.80, structural expansion has caused mechanical degradation of individual particles, as well as caused porosity changes within individual manganese dioxide particles and the electrode itself, essentially making them unavailable for discharge (proton insertion). A further implication of this is that the performance of the alkaline manganese dioxide cathode is then predominantly dependent on the geometric surface area and the bulk ϒ-MnO2 structure.]]> Wed 24 Jul 2013 22:20:08 EST ]]> Note on best possible bounds for determinants of matrices close to the identity matrix Wed 22 Mar 2017 11:48:19 EST ]]> Systematic review and network meta-analysis of intravenous ibuprofen vs. intravenous indomethacin vs. placebo in the management of clinically and/or echocardiographically important patent ductus arteriosus in preterm infants at greater than 24 hours of life Wed 21 Sep 2016 16:13:21 EST ]]> Parents as partners in the treatment of adolescent anorexia nervosa: experiences and insights for practitioners Wed 21 Sep 2016 12:24:44 EST ]]> 'The Holy Grail' or 'The good, the bad and the ugly'?: a qualitative exploration of the ILUAs agreement-making process and the relationship between ILUAs and native title Wed 21 Oct 2015 12:50:13 EST ]]> On minors of maximal determinant matrices n has no proper Hadamard submatrix of order m > n/2. Outcomes: The effect of admission eGFR on the primary outcome of death or major disability at 90 days (defined as modified Rankin Scale scores of 3-6) was analyzed using a multivariable logistic regression model. Potential effect modification of intensive BP lowering treatment by admission eGFR was assessed by interaction terms. Results: Of 2,623 included participants, 912 (35%) and 280 (11%) had mildly and moderately/severely decreased eGFRs, respectively. Patients with moderately/severely decreased eGFRs had the greatest risk for death or major disability at 90 days (adjusted OR, 1.82; 95% CI, 1.28-2.61). Effects of early intensive BP lowering were consistent across different eGFRs (P = 0.5 for homogeneity). Limitations: Generalizability issues arising from a clinical trial population. Conclusions: Decreased eGFR predicts poor outcome in acute ICH. Early intensive BP lowering provides similar treatment effects in patients with ICH with decreased eGFRs.]]> Tue 06 Jun 2017 11:54:08 EST ]]> Some binomial sums involving absolute values Tue 06 Dec 2016 15:33:31 EST ]]> Reasons for substance use among people with psychotic disorders: method triangulation approach Tue 04 Mar 2014 14:54:38 EST ]]> Antenatal psychosocial assessment for reducing perinatal mental health morbidity Thu 25 Jul 2013 00:05:27 EST ]]> Improving availability, promotion and purchase of fruit and vegetable and non sugar-sweetened drink products at community sporting clubs: a randomised trial Thu 25 Feb 2016 14:53:39 EST ]]> Chronic disease health risk behaviours amongst people with a mental illness Thu 24 Nov 2016 16:16:49 EST ]]> Acceptability and receipt of preventive care for chronic-disease health risk behaviors reported by clients of community mental health services Thu 24 Nov 2016 16:09:55 EST ]]> Development of a cancer needs questionnaire for parents and carers of adolescents and young adults with cancer Thu 24 Apr 2014 14:23:08 EST ]]> Preliminary development and psychometric evaluation of an unmet needs measure for adolescents and young adults with cancer: the Cancer Needs Questionaire – Young People (CNQ-YP) Thu 24 Apr 2014 13:20:06 EST ]]> Psychological growth in humanitarian aid personnel: reintegrating with family and community following exposure to war and genocide Thu 23 Feb 2017 14:51:48 EST ]]> Psychological growth in aging Vietnam veterans: redefining shame and betrayal Thu 23 Feb 2017 10:32:48 EST ]]> Adaptive growth following terrorism: vigilance and anger as facilitators of posttraumatic growth in the aftermath of the Bali bombings Thu 23 Feb 2017 09:22:50 EST ]]> Impact of a postdischarge smoking cessation intervention for smokers admitted to an inpatient psychiatric facility: A randomized controlled trial Thu 22 Sep 2016 16:38:41 EST ]]> Bounds on minors of binary matrices Thu 22 Sep 2016 15:28:42 EST ]]> General lower bounds on maximal determinants of binary matrices Thu 20 Jul 2017 16:28:59 EST ]]> A Role for H2S in the microcirculation of newborns: the major metabolite of H2S (thiosulphate) is increased in preterm infants Thu 18 Dec 2014 10:59:11 EST ]]> D=EQ: a triptych of designed objects, which explore the relationship between theory and practice Thu 15 Aug 2013 11:40:00 EST ]]> Synthesis of meaning: negative and positive change in family members following the adversity of dementia Synthesis of Meaning emerged from the data using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Trends in receptor binding site density measurements supported this observation (P = 0.07). Glucocorticoid exposure increased β₁-adrenoceptor mRNA levels in the right ventricle of preterm hearts (P = 0.008) but did not alter expression in the left ventricle (P>0.1). Relative abundance of a1A-adrenoceptor mRNA was the same in preterm and term piglet hearts (P = >0.1) but was reduced by maternal glucocorticoid treatment (P<0.01); a2A-adrenoceptor mRNA abundance was higher in untreated and glucocorticoid exposed preterm piglet hearts than in term piglets (P<0.001). There was no difference between male and female piglets in mRNA abundance of any of the genes studied. In conclusion, there is reduced mRNA abundance of β₁-adrenoceptors in the preterm pig heart. For example, [forumal cannot be replicated]. By a recent result of Livinskyi, d²/h1/2 → 0 as n → 8, so the second bound is close to (πe/2)-d/2 for large n. Previous lower bounds tended to zero as n → ∞ with d fixed, except in the cases d ∈ {0, 1}. For d ≥ 2, our bounds are better for all sufficiently large n. These interpreted themes mirror multiple layers of complex policing trauma in these participants that over time eroded hope. They reveal a growing awareness of moral injury that only found voice, postdischarge. Chronic exposure to policing trauma was experienced as a domino effect slowly diminishing self-worth and consequently corroding their earlier sense of purpose as police personnel. Intrinsically, shame was interpreted as having failed. Discharge dissociated them from the collegial support necessary to reintegrate into their postdischarge lives. Instead, former altruistic selves became reclusive. These participants attributed "felt" distress as directly attributable to organizational factors that left them feeling invalidated, betrayed, and without support.
