The radio access network resources are allocated based on the air interface demand. The proposed bandwidth management technique is evaluated by an analytical and a simulation model. Both analytical and simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves the Iub link utilization, and keep high the HSDPA air interface resource utilization by jointly optimizing the resource allocation processes. 2010-09-24T01:10:12.035Z ]]> Study of interdependency between the HSDPA air interface and the radio access network http://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:6779 This paper analyzes the interdependence between the Iub link characteristics and the HSDPA air interface performance using analytical and simulation techniques. The impact of the Node-B scheduling mechanisms are also investigated in this paper. A Markov chain based analytical model and a simulation model is used to obtain HSDPA air interface performance results. 2010-09-24T01:10:11.113Z ]]> Impact of a radio access network capacity on the HSDPA link performance http://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/manager/Repository/uon:6778 This paper analyzes the impact of the Iub link characteristics on the HSDPA air interface performance. In this work three different transport protocols are used to examine the effect of the Iub link on the HSDPA air interface. The paper uses both analytical and simulation techniques to analyze the relationship between the HSDPA air interface performance and the Iub link characteristics. The paper uses a Markov chain based analytical model and an OPNET based simulation model to obtain HSDPA air interface performance results. 2010-09-24T01:10:07.683Z ]]>
