- In memoriam: Jay Govind was raised in Durban, South Africa. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Cape Town, and completed several years as a resident medical officer. Being of Indian descent, he found that career opportunities in specialist medicine were limited to him in South Africa. He emigrated to Australia to pursue his fortune.
