Description: Some members of the ANZSNM may remember what may be politely called ‘the energetic discussion that followed the introduction of the CPD system’. As a profession we are now involved in a far more significant process by seeking inclusion in a National Registration and Accreditation Scheme. Some have described this as the most revolutionary change to regulation of the health professions in Australia since the mid 19th century. In March 2008, The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) took a major step towards improving Australia’s health system by signing an Intergovernmental Agreement on the health workforce.
