- Title
- Composing music: popular music since 1950
- Author/Creator
-
McIntyre, Phillip
- Description
- Composition of popular music has remained substantially consistent since 1950 despite the emergence of a perplexing array of new genres and the reworking of some established ones. Current commercially successful genres include rap, neo-folk, new country, trance, gabba, death metal, jungle, acid jazz, americana, hip hop, SoCal punk, cabaret noir and drum-and-bass. Among all these genres the work of talented songwriters remains preëminent.
