Communication is a critical skill for nursing. It is the process by which humans meet their survival needs, build relationships 1md experience emotions. In nursing, communication is a dynamic process used to gather assessment data, to build an understanding of the patient and his or her health experiences, to teach and persuade and to express caring and comfort. It is an integral part of the therapeutic relationship between the patient and the nurse as well as relationships between members of the health care team.
